The worldwide first Slow Food
at Terra Madre 2018
The biggest and most important food and responsible eating culture event is staged in Turin from 20 – 24 September 2018.
“Food for Change“ is the motto of Terra Madre, the trade fair that highlights the current topic climate change and demands a change in thinking in food production and when choosing food.
Terra Madre Salone del Gusto brings 5000 Slow Food delegates from 140 countries, over 800 exhibitors, 300 Slow Food Presidi and over 500 food communities together. And at centre stage is the new Slow Food Carinthia initiative and the valleys and region of the first Slow Food Travel Destination: the Lesachtal Valley, Gailtal Valley, Gitschtal Valley and Lake Weissensee.
The region’s Slow Food Travel partners present tasty samples like honey from the Gailtal Valley and the Lesachtal Valley, white Gailtal Valley maize, raw milk cheese and Gailtal Valley Bacon, Loncium beer and maize crackers on the 4 days of the trade fair.
In addition, representatives of the Slow Food Travel region have been invited to share and convey their experiences around the topics seeding material and health in foodstuffs in conferences and workshops.
Dr Georg Lexer and Andrea Unterguggenberger of the Peintnerhof farm in the Lesachtal Valley and Sepp Brandstätter from Würmlach will be available as discussion partners for the delegates at Terra Madre. Christopher Gruber and Eckart Mandler will talk about first experiences of the Slow Food Travel region during the Terra Madre conferences.
Barbara Klauss from Kötschach-Mauthen as well as Herwig Ertl, head of the Slow Food Convivium Alpe Adria, will provide visitors with information at the stand.
Visiting Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is a must if you want to experience the full diversity and the Slow Food network with a variety of topics and projects around food and eating culture. The trade fair is a meeting place for people from all continents whose aim it is to present better food produced with good and clean methods and to achieve a fair price for their products.
