Bauernhof Maar - Lissi's kuhles Bauerneis

When they set out to do something, they do it with verve, concept and attention to detail. The Neuwirth family from Goderschach has been running the Maar Farm for many years. And because the well-being of the cows is especially close to their hearts, they also make really "cool" farmhouse ice cream. Lissi is the ice-cream maker and inventor of ice-cream varieties, her husband Günter is the master of the cows and supporter in all ice-cream matters. Ice cream tasters and critics are the children Julia, Sonja and Elisabeth, while the grandparents are the quiet helpers in the background. They are all united by their love of Lissi's cool farmhouse ice cream, which tastes best when made by hand.

Lissi's cool farmhouse ice cream

Lissi's cool farmhouse ice cream

Our product is called "artisan ice cream". We have chosen this natural method, without any ready-made mixes or bought-in fruit preparations. Each of our ice creams has its own recipe, which is adjusted to the sugar content of the fruit or the fat content of the ingredients. This makes us very flexible and fast in developing or trying out new flavours. All our ingredients are bought in pure form, and we make pastes or sauces and variegati ourselves. This reduces the list of ingredients and the ice cream is low in allergens. We do not use any foreign fats and have chosen the raw material inulin - a substance from the chicory root (which, by the way, also helps against stomach problems). Our fruit ice creams are made as sorbet, so they have a very high fruit content. For the milk ice cream varieties, we use only milk from our cows. Also, for the sugars - except for the nut pulp and vanilla - we source in the region or in Carinthia and in Austria, where the ingredients are available at the moment. Herbs and flowers come from our own garden.
