Arriving by car

Comfortable and independent

From the north and east

A10 Tauern motorway via Tauern and Katschberg tunnels (toll) to the Spittal an der Drau junction.

Continue to Weissensee on the B100 towards Greifenburg. From Greifenburg continue in direction Kreuzberg Pass/Weissensee.

Continue to the Nassfeld-Pressegger See region on the A10 to the Feistritz/Drau exit, continue in direction Hermagor via the Windische Höhe. Continue to your accommodation.

Continue into the Lesachtal Valley on the B100 towards Oberdrauburg and then south on the B110 to Kötschach-Mauthen. Via the B111, you finally reach the Lesachtal Valley and the Tyrolean Gailtal Valley.

or:

Alternatively, continue on the A10 to the Villach junction, continue on the A2 Südautobahn towards Italy, take the Hermagor/Gailtal exit to Hermagor and continue to your accommodation.

Via Gitschtal/Kreuzberg Sadle, you can reach Weissensee from here or continue up the Gailtal Valley into the Lesachtal Valley.

 

From the west

From Bregenz/Innsbruck on the A12 or A13 to Brenner and on the A22 via Sterzing to the Brixen exit. Now take the E66 via Bruneck and Innichen to Sillian.

Continue into the Lesachtal Valley shortly after Sillian east towards the B111.

From here it is possible to continue into the Gailtal Valley and to Lake Weissensee. Alternatively, the route via Lienz and the Gailberg Saddle (towards Kötschach-Mauthen) and via the Kreuzberg Saddle can be taken for this.

or:

Alternatively, motorway via Rosenheim, Kufstein (A12 Inntal motorway exit Kufstein Süd), Felbertauern tunnel (toll) to Lienz.

Continue into the Lesachtal Valley and the Nassfeld-Pressegger See region towards Oberdrauburg and then on towards Gailberg Saddle, Kötschach-Mauthen. From here, head west into the Lesachtal Valley or east towards Nassfeld and Hermagor.

Continue to Lake Weissensee in direction Greifenburg and on to Kreuzberg Saddle/Weissensee.

From the south

Motorway to Udine and continue in direction Austria, motorway exit Pontebba, through the town of Pontebba the Italian pass road to Nassfeld (Passo di Pramollo) (distance Udine - Nassfeld: 85 km).

Continue to Lake Weissensee and the Lesachtal Valley from the Gailtal Valley, see below.

or:

Autostrada Udine - Tarvisio towards Austria. Continue on A2 Südautobahn until exit Hermagor/Gailtal. Continue to Hermagor.

Continue to Lake Weissensee via the Gitschtal Valley and Kreuzberg Saddle.

Continue into the Lesachtal Valley in direction Kötschach-Mauthen and continue to follow the B111.

or:

Coming from Ljubljana in direction Karavankas tunnel (toll). Continue on the motorway to the Villach junction and then drive in direction Italy until the Hermagor/Gailtal exit. For further directions to the regions, see above.

 

Mobility in the region - holiday fun without a car!

In the Nassfeld-Pressegger holiday region, the entire bus service network is available at hourly intervals and free of charge for guests! Every guest who holds a "+CARD holiday" or a GästeCard Basic (issued directly by your accommodation provider) can use public transport completely free of charge. Cycling and leisure buses as well as individual transfers for hikers and bikers are available in addition.

The Lesachtal Valley GästeCard Basic also provides free use of regional bus services. 

The "Erlebnispass Mobil+" at Lake Weissensee guarantees easy travel from the railway station in Greifenburg to the accommodation in the Weissensee Nature Park.
